E-Crime Prevention Groups and Organisations
This page contains information about groups and organisations that are able to offer advice and assistance on E-Crime prevention. This is provided in relation to the Information Security and SMEs event being held on the 3rd of February 2009.

- National e-Crime Prevention Centre (NeCPC)

- The NeCPC has existed as a virtual organisation for 5 years and has been actively involved in awareness raising events and in determining UK strategy. The concept evolved as a partnership between the NHTCU (now SOCA), West Midlands Police and the University of Wolverhampton supported by other organisations.
- The NeCPC has held many awareness raising events directed at SMEs and worked with the Cybersecurity KTN to run a competition in SME support which was won by the Business Crime Reduction Centre.
- The Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG)

- The SASIG is a subscription free quarterly networking forum open to those who have an interest in, or a responsibility for, raising awareness about security and crime prevention within their organisations. Since its inception in 2004 the membership has now grown to over 1100 committed members.
- The SASIG is a member of the ISAF. It meets to network and discuss the challenges of raising employee security and crime prevention awareness, successful practices and solutions, and to participate in workshops. The meetings attract a very high calibre of both delegates and speakers, representing organisations of all sizes and from all sectors. The Group was founded by Martin Smith MBE BSc FSyI, Chairman of The Security Company (International) Limited.
