Management
The Cyber Security programme within the Digital Systems KTN is managed by QinetiQ, an activity which involves delivering the energy and glue required to achieve critical mass and momentum in order for the KTN to succeed.
The Digital Systems KTN is funded by Government, Regional Development Agencies, Devolved Administrations and Research Councils.
Strategy
The aims of the Cyber Security programme are to achieve our mission by providing an environment in which:
- industry, academia and government (at national and regional levels) can come together to explore key issues in developing secure systems
- views and information will be exchanged to provide integrated solutions, and exploit synergies between existing and nascent platforms
- strategies are formed and markets grown collaboratively
- cross-sector partnerships are built and maintained
- UK expertise in Cyber Security is promoted on a national and international basis.
An independent Steering Committee has been formed whose primary role is to monitor and steer the activities of the KTN to ensure that it represents the best interests of the UK Cyber Security community. In particular the committee will:
- monitor and give feedback to the management team on the activities of the programme
- to provide independent advice on matters of KTN policy
- to inform the vision, mission, strategic objectives and activities of the programme
- help create new interactions nationally and internationally for the programme
- champion the activities of the programme
- ensure that the programme is representative of the UK cyber security stakeholder community.
The Steering Committee meets on a quarterly basis where programme progress is discussed and debates on strategic direction take place. Each meeting results in an output of new priorities and mandates for action.
All network members have the opportunity to submit ideas for network activities and priorities for consideration by the Steering Committee. In addition we hold regular events for members to debate strategy in person.
